We now provide an easy way to add miscellaneous external profiles as resources to your identities. Instead of writing the full URL for yourself you can now select the wanted profile and you only have to enter your username for the given profile.

E.g.

In the resources section select the wanted profile from the drop down:

After that enter your username (here: last.fm user) and add the resource

After adding the resource, it will appear on your idleaf with a nice little icon.

We have included a video tutorial on the homepage. Every time we produce a new one, we put a there so that you can quickly watch it. :)

Define your own identity URLs

The original idleaf identity URLs are created by using the first 2 letters of a company or the first name followed by a 4-digit number.

http://idleaf.com/ID4184 is for example such an old-school identity URL.

The advantage is, that you can create new identities without thinking about names and can quickly use this new identity.

Because many people print their idleaf-URLs on business-cards and a name looks much more smoother on such a card, we have now integrated a way to define your own custom identity URLs.

You can set your custom URL by editing your identity and clicking on "Identity URL" in the navigation bar. You can then set a name which has to have a length between 1 and 20 characters.

The URL in the example above is now

http://idleaf.com/we

That looks nice. :)

idleaf LOVES Microformats

We love Microformats and so we support them in many places on idleaf.com. We use for example hcard and xfolk in the idleaf-profiles.
With Firefox plugins like Tails Export or Operator you can easily access these meta data and use them. Additionally these semantic data can be used by search engines and other automatic processes.

Image via WikipediaOk, i think i have watched too much Futurama, because the sentence above is from the first episode (hear or read it for yourself ;). But i am very excited to release the first version of the identity management system idleaf. Since last year i have developed during some of my spare time and now its nearly ready to go public. Its now in testing mode for a closed group of α/β/γ-users, but it will be opened soon.
Then you will benefit by the use of multiple identities, verification of resources on the web, file-sharing (protected or open) and many other cool stuff.
